What’s the Rotharlann?
Our Rotharlann (bike library) works just like a book library. Sign up, borrow a fully refurbished bike and when your child outgrows it, simply return it and swap it for the next size up!
There is no membership fee, but you can choose to purchase a helmet, lock or lights!
Bikes are loaned for up to 12 months, with the option to extend or return earlier if needed.

We have a limited number of bikes you can try before borrowing in our shop, the rest are all online. So if you pick the wrong size, don’t worry, you can swap it for the right one!

Our bikes are not brand new! They have been donated to us and then fully refurbished by our team of mechanics!
So instead of lying unused in the back of sheds or at the end of the garden, they will be passed on, again and again!
New kids bikes are also expensive and often don’t represent good value for money so through the library we will try to ensure that as many children as possible in Galway have access to sustainable transport.

Just bring it along when the library is open.
You will receive an email one month and two week before your loan ends.
If you’re unable to return it before the end of your loan, just let us know!
